In August 2016 I made my way to my 18th Oppikoppi festival (on that infamous farm near Northam in the Limpopo province of South Africa).

Oppikoppi 2016‘s expansive lineup features international headliners like popular metalcore band August Burns Red, South African-born favourites KONGOS and rap star Yelawolf – as well as local acts, like the electronic-driven Petite Noir, Afrikaans heavyweights Fokofpolisiekar and Valiant Swart.
I had so much fun at this festival (which featured some really late nights in the Top Bar). It was also the only Oppikoppi that I stayed in a tented hotel. It was a completely different experience than my usual festival experience was and extremely comfortable.
