In August 2005 I made my way to Oppikoppi Wired (on that now-infamous farm near Northam in the Limpopo province of South Africa).

I can’t seem to remember the whole line-up at this edition of what used to be one of South Africa’s go-to music festivals, but I do I remember that this was the 2nd and 3rd time that I watched Fokofpolisiekar perform – the first time was a year earlier at Oppikoppi 10.
The list of artists that I vaguely remember watching that weekend includes The Narrow, Prime Circle, Valiant Swart, Old Mol, Bacchus Nel, Jan Blohm and Luna Paige. The highlight of that year was definitely enjoying Fokofpolisiekar‘s acoustic set at what would later become the Red Bull Stage. It was lekker hearing Die Bende playing the whole Monoloog In Stereo EP live for the first time.
