Veranda Panda, one of Durban’s most innovative music duos, teams up with local favorite Tanner Wareham for an electrifying new single, “Carry Me.” The track is a heartfelt tribute to the fans and supporters who make every live performance unforgettable.

The collaboration between Veranda Panda and Tanner Wareham came together in a moment of pure creativity. Jane, the violinist and vocalist of Veranda Panda, began crafting “Carry Me” on a flight home after their Parklive show in Johannesburg.

Within 24 hours, Jane and Liam had the foundation of the song complete. Wanting a male vocal to alternate with Jane’s, Tanner Wareham was their first choice – his unique vocal tone and the brass-infused chorus hook perfectly complemented the track’s energy.

“We drove over to Tanner Wareham’s place, pitched him the song, and he was immediately on board,” said Jane. “This was our most organic and fun collaboration to date, and it just clicked.”

“Carry Me” captures the raw, vulnerable moment just before an artist steps into the spotlight, exposing their heart and talent to a crowd. It explores the duality of nerves and excitement that fuels every performance and serves as a heartfelt thank-you to the fans who support them. As Jane reflects, “It doesn’t matter how many shows you play; there’s always a risk in putting yourself out there. But the love and energy from our fans carry us through.”

The recording process was fast and fluid, with all three artists sharing a vision for the track. “The song came together like a wildfire,” shared Liam. “We didn’t overthink it. We trusted our gut, and we’re so proud of how it turned out.”

This release also marks a significant turning point for Veranda Panda. Jane has recently stepped away from the stability of a full-time job to focus entirely on the duo, diving headfirst into new creative territory. “Carry Me” resonates with this bold move, capturing the thrill and trepidation of embarking on a new journey.

Veranda Panda and Tanner Wareham are fixtures in Durban’s music scene, often sharing stages and festivals

Yet, “Carry Me” is their first creative collaboration, merging Tanner’s soulful energy with Veranda Panda’s dynamic blend of electric violin, vocals, and electronic beats.

With “Carry Me”, Veranda Panda and Tanner Wareham invite fans old and new to join them on a sonic journey that celebrates the transformative power of music and the unwavering support of their community. Keep an eye on these boundary-pushing artists – they’re only just beginning.
