    Misty Waters Music Festival 2024: The Lowdown

    Since its inception in 2017, the Misty Waters Music Festival, situated on the picturesque Lake Umuzi in Secunda, Mpumalanga, has steadily garnered a reputation and loyal following.

    Entering its seventh year, the upcoming 2024 edition promises an impressive line-up of 22 rock, blues, indie, and folk bands set to perform over three days from April 26 to April 28.

    General Tickets are priced at R590 per person, inclusive of complimentary general camping, with children aged 6 and under granted free entry.

    Furthermore, campers (both general camping and Kamp Oase) are granted early access to the festival grounds from Thursday, April 25, allowing ample time to settle in before the influx of attendees.

    What sets Misty Waters apart is its steadfast dedication to maintaining the raw atmosphere cherished by like-minded music enthusiasts, prioritizing its identity as a rock festival above all else.

    This year’s lineup features acclaimed acts such as The Black Cat Bones, Native Young, Spoegwolf, Dan Patlansky, Albert Frost, Tidal Waves, Glaskas, Fuzigish, Ann Jangle, Painted Flowers and more.

    Misty Waters stands out among South African festivals by offering a variety of camping and hotel options to suit different preferences:

    • General Camping: Included in the Misty Waters ticket (R590 per person for the weekend pass).
    • Kamp Oase Camping: Ideal for campers seeking additional amenities like electricity and water points. Kamp Oase provides dedicated stands available for booking from R1200 per person (ticket price to be added).
    • Luxury Accommodation: Two hotels within walking distance of the festival grounds, with festival tickets included in your booking:
      • InnGreen Hotel: An environmentally friendly establishment offering 45 modern and uncluttered twin/double en-suite hotel rooms.
      • The Merchant Hotel: Providing spacious double en-suite rooms, with breakfast included.

    Situated within the broader Lake Umuzi Waterfront area, Misty Waters offers convenience alongside its secluded ambiance.

    Despite its escape-from-the-world vibe, essential amenities and shopping options are conveniently located within a five-minute drive. With a mall and various shops nearby, necessities like a pharmacy, retail stores, or spare clothing are easily accessible.

    Before the music starts at noon each day, attendees can partake in activities such as rock climbing at Idwala Adventures, laser tag at Blazing Guns, putt-putt at Rocky Waters, indulging in a massage at Mvua Wellness Spa, playing frisbee golf, sampling beer at Lake Umuzi Brewery, fishing on Lake Umuzi Islands, and letting kids enjoy the play area at Carnival Kids. This ensures that the festival caters to individuals of all ages.
