    The Lighting Setup at Sognage (Photo Of The Week)

    On the 1st of July 2023 I made my way to Sognage (in Johannesburg) to experience That Winter Fest (a one-night festival featuring performances by The Tazers, Mouse, Black Math, Caution Boy and Sextape).

    It was a fun night out in South Africa’s biggest city and all five of the bands played some rocking sets. It was great to see two of Durban’s best rock bands (Mouse and Black Math) again. These boytjies don’t play in Gauteng often and they really brought their A-game that night.

    Sognage is one of Johannesburg top live music venues. It’s located at 304 Tungsten Road in Strydompark, The venue has hosted some legendary events over the last few years. It’s located in a semi-industrial area, so they never get any noise complaints.

    That Winter Fest

    Sognage’s sound is top notch and the lighting setup is legit. The venue is clean, bar service is quick and it has the coolest mens public bathrooms in South Africa. Yes folks, the mens bathroom has a spiral staircase (and that’s pretty cool in my books).

    The Tazers played a lekker set before Black Math made their way onto the stage at That Winter West and I was not disappointed. I snapped this photo during their set and it has been selected as this week’s Photo Of The Week.

    This photo is proof that Sognage’s lighting setup is top-notch. These lights light up the whole crowd during performances. The stage backgrounds are very cool as well.

    If you live in Johannesburg (or Pretoria) and you love live music, you should definitely check out Sognage. You will have a good time. I gaurantee it.
