In March 2014 I made my way to RAMFest 2014 Johannesburg for a muddy weekend of great live music and fun interactions with my fellow music-loving humans.

More info about RAMFest 2014 Johannesburg

RAMFest 2014 Johannesburg was actually held in the Witfontein district (near Bronkhorstspruit) and featured three international headliners: Biffy Clyro, Foals, Trivium and Killswitch Engage).

Local acts that played on the weekend included Sutherland, Mr. Cat & The Jackal, Facing The Gallows, ISO, Gangs of Ballet, Agro, Taxi Violence, Pestroy, The Black Cat Bones and a few others that I can’t remember.

The Black Cat Bones played on the Saturday at RAMFest 2014 Johannesburg. I vaguely remember this set, but I do remember that it was one the best sets that I had seen by the band. They really brought their A-game and the crowd loved every second of it. I snapped this photo of the band during their set.

Sadly, The Black Bones lead vocalist (Kobus De Kock Jr.) passed away a while ago. He was one of my favourite people in the the SA Music Scence. It was always lekker listening to his stories and jokes and to photograph him – I am really going to miss him. RIP Rot.
