Plain Mister Smith is known for his Eclectic Indie-Folk Sound
Based between Vancouver and London, Plain Mister Smith is known for crafting eclectic indie-folk soundscapes with catchy, quick-witted lyrics and introspective undertones. “Miss Sunshine” features John Raham on drums and was mixed by Chris Perry. The track is perfect for fans of Pixies, Tame Impala, Death Cab for Cutie, and The Beatles.
Thematically, “Miss Sunshine” explores empathy for someone deeply admired who is being taken advantage of — with the emotions sometimes leaning toward romance.
Plain Mister Smith’s evocative lyricism takes centre stage as he authentically sings about his “Miss Sunshine.” Light and playful, yet full of emotion and sensitivity, the track’s soothing melody is supported by catchy guitar licks and a steady drum pattern, providing the perfect backdrop for his warm vocals.
Plain Mister Smith explains: “If you’ve ever worked with the loveliest person in the world and found them mercilessly taken advantage of by fellow workers, then you’ll know a ‘Miss Sunshine,’ or you may even have a crush on her.”
“Miss Sunshine” is now available on all digital platforms. Stream/download it HERE.
