Kharishma (real name Melita Ribane) is a dynamic vocalist, songwriter, and performer from Limpopo, South Africa. She has quickly become a leading figure in the emerging Lekompo genre—a vibrant fusion of traditional Limpopo rhythms, Afrobeat, and modern house music.
At just 20 years old, Kharishma achieved a major career milestone with her breakout single “Chokeslam”—a collaboration with producer Ba Bethe Gashoazen—which won Song of the Year on both Thobela FM and Capricorn FM.
The track’s viral success on platforms like TikTok and YouTube helped introduce Lekompo to a wider audience and positioned Kharishma as a pioneer of the genre.
