More info about Luc Lavigne
Originally from Melkbosstrand, Lavigne has been based in Los Angeles for the past two years. After graduating as an Audio Engineer from the Musicians Institute in April 2024—specializing in studio recording, production, songwriting, mixing, and mastering—he quickly made his mark, working on projects in some of the world’s most renowned commercial studios.
“I’ve been fortunate to work in iconic studios like Chalice Recording (home to artists like Beyoncé, BTS, and Shakira), Paramount Studios (frequented by Justin Bieber, Eminem, and Jack Harlow), East West Studios (where Olivia Rodrigo and John Legend have recorded), and Sunset Sound (used by legends like John Lennon and The Black Keys),” says Lavigne. “I’ve also worked at Elemental Recording (known for Dr. Dre and Earth Wind & Fire) and Rostrum Studios (with artists like Mac Miller and Wiz Khalifa).”
Luc Lavigne has collaborated with leading record labels, including Rostrum Records, Sony Music, Interscope Records, and Def Jam Records, contributing to projects shaping today’s music landscape.
In 2024, he produced, mixed, and mastered Rav Steelo’s track “CP Company,” which achieved significant milestones. The song was featured in Spotify UK’s “Viral Top 50,” climbed to #48 on the Shazam Top 200 and Top 50, and became the biggest gainer on LocalPulse in Bristol and Manchester.
Steelo’s latest single, also produced, mixed, and mastered by Lavigne, gained further acclaim, earning a #1 nomination for Shazam’s “Artist on the Move and Trending Tracks.” The track has amassed over 3 million streams and 30 million social media views in just three months.
In addition to his studio work, Luc Lavigne serves as the lead recording engineer for the popular children’s YouTube series SadieTV, which boasts 30,000 subscribers and over 10 million views.
Luc Lavigne’s passion for music production began during his teenage years when his love for playing instruments evolved into a fascination with the art of creating songs.
“The process of bringing a song to life—from recording and songwriting to mixing and mastering—was captivating,” he shares. “The journey of shaping a track for radio is both challenging and rewarding. I’m grateful for what I’ve achieved at a young age and have learned that hard work and determination truly pay off.”
Now in 2025, Luc Lavigne continues to make waves. One of his recent credits includes producing and mixing “Any Other Way” by South African pop-punk artist Anica Kiana. Shortly after its release, the track was featured on Spotify’s curated playlist “The Hottest Global and SA Pop Tracks,” with Kiana and her song gracing the cover of the playlist.
