Following the success of her debut single ‘Where Are You Now?’, Britney Meistre headed to Hollywood to record her sophomore release ‘By My Side?’, which is out today across all digital platforms.
Written and recorded in Los Angeles, Britney collaborated with the talented team at Onkey and Indasoul records for her latest single ‘By My Side’. She was scouted and approached by the team to work with them and after various sessions via zoom planning and writing songs, Britney headed to the states for two weeks to record the vocals for the track.
Britney Meistre recalls the encounter
“It was an amazing experience to be in Hollywood, California amongst so many talented people that all had the same passion as I did. It was an experience that I will never forget and will forever be grateful for.”
‘By My Side’ is the second single to be released by Britney Meistre. The single is accompanied by the release of the music video, which was shot locally by the geniuses at Dream Media.
Britney tells us about the inspiration for the song
“’By My Side’ is about a girl that is head over heals for a guy she met. It seems too good to be true and she has her reservations that he already has a girl by his side. All she wants is attention from him, and for him to be by her side.”
She comments on the music video
“For the music video we decided to go with an old vintage style. The music video features an old convertible car driving on a beautiful, secluded road. It also features an airfield with planes flying over the car. The video concentrates on the connection between the singer and model and their love for each other.”

With two original releases already under her belt with ‘Where Are You Now?’ and the latest single ‘By My Side’, Britney Meistre has been dreaming of releasing her own music all her life. From a young girl that grew up in the south of Johannesburg, music ran through her veins.
With family photos of her as a 3-year-old holding a mic and banging on a keyboard, the love for music was there when she could hardly talk or walk. As a teen she participated in any and every show or performance she could get involved in for fun.
By the age of 16 she entered Idols SA and was eliminated just short of the Top 16, which was an amazing achievement for such a young novice talent. After her time on Idols SA, her drive and motivation for music was bursting at the seams and since then she’s been perfecting her craft and writing songs.
