    Mango Groove To Celebrate 40 Years at Kirstenbosch

    South Africa’s beloved Mango Groove will mark a monumental milestone with a one-night-only 40th Anniversary concert at the iconic Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden on Sunday, the 12th of January 2025.

    Renowned for their unique fusion of marabi, kwela, and pop, Mango Groove has been a household name since the 1980s, crafting a soundtrack that resonates deeply with South African culture. This exclusive event, titled Memories and Moments, offers fans a journey through 40 years of hits, heart, and history.

    Fans can expect a Magical Night

    Set against the stunning backdrop of Kirstenbosch, the evening promises an unforgettable picnic under the stars. Attendees can revel in timeless classics like “Special Star”, “Dance Some More”, and “Moments Away”. Beyond the music, fans will enjoy dazzling visuals, personal stories, nostalgic reflections, and a few surprises.

    Reflecting on this milestone, Mango Groove’s iconic vocalist Claire Johnston says “40 years—what an incredible journey! We’re thrilled to celebrate at Kirstenbosch, a venue filled with cherished memories. This night is not just about us—it’s about South Africa’s story and everyone who’s been part of it. Expect joy, gratitude, and togetherness.”

    Exclusive Anniversary Merchandise

    To mark the occasion, Mango Groove will debut a limited-edition merchandise range, including vinyl reissues, signed items, and rare collectables.

    Sarah Struys, Events and Tourism Manager at the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI), expressed excitement about hosting the event, saying “Mango Groove’s music unites people, and this celebration perfectly captures the spirit of Kirstenbosch.”

    • Time: Gates open at 16:00, Concert starts at 17:15
    • Venue: Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, Cape Town
    • Tickets: Available exclusively via Webtickets or at the Kirstenbosch Garden

    Important: Only tickets purchased via Webtickets or at the garden are valid. Early booking is advised as tickets are limited.

    Guests can enjoy food from on-site vendors or bring their own picnic baskets. Pre-ordered meals are also available from Kirstenbosch Fynkos or Moyo Restaurant (up to five days in advance). Note: Kirstenbosch concerts are non-smoking events, and this policy will be strictly enforced.
