More info about MacStanley
MacStanley, born out of an accidental win in a song-writing contest, consists of non-professional musicians Andy and Clinton. The addition of Neil to the core group brought performing experience, leading to three albums, a SAMA nomination, and high-profile performances, including at the 2010 FIFA World Cup Draw and tours with renowned acts like Counting Crows and Collective Soul.
The band’s return is met with much excitement and enthusiasm from the members themselves. “We are beyond thrilled to be back after a decade, sharing our music with the world once again,” they shared. “’Remembrance’ marks a special moment for us, and the anticipation of this next chapter is exhilarating.
The creative process has been a nostalgic journey, and we can’t wait to reconnect with our fans and create new memories together. The support we’ve received over the years has been incredible, and we’re ready to embark on this musical adventure once more. This is just the beginning of what promises to be an exciting and heartfelt new phase for MacStanley.”
MacStanley‘s impressive discography spans three distinct albums, each showcasing the band’s evolution and musical versatility. Of Secrets and Wine stands out as an organic and acoustic collection of 17 songs, produced by the renowned Theo Crous and featuring successful radio singles like “Treading Air” and “Real Live Girl.”
The SAMA-nominated second album, Between 2 Worlds, takes a bold step with a bigger, more electric guitar-driven sound, spawning hit singles such as “As I Am,” “Freedive,” and “Daytrippers”.
For their third album, Lucid, Alive & Dreaming, MacStanley collaborated with the legendary South African producer duo Brian O’Shea & Chris Tuck. This release marks a departure with the inclusion of keyboards and programming, resulting in a smoother more produced sound. Notable highlights include the radio single “Angel” and the haunting track “Star,” showcasing the band’s continuous musical evolution.
MacStanley‘s return with “Remembrance” is a testament to their enduring creative spirit and the unbreakable bond they share with their fans and each other. The single sets the stage for what promises to be a captivating new chapter in the band’s musical journey.
