Johannesburg-based singer-songwriter, Lee Cole, has been steadily making his musical presence known one pristinely produced pop song at a time.
Still riding the wave of success his previous two singles ‘I Don’t Wanna Wait’ and ‘Pink Dragons’ achieved, charting high on major radio stations such as 947, KFM, Jacaranda FM, East Coast Radio, Heart FM, Algoa FM, and Ofm, Lee has returned with his brand new single ‘Honey, Let Me In’.

Lee Cole explains “Honey, Let Me In”

I wrote this single after a friend of mine described his experience to me. He was at his significant other’s home and he described the feeling of being with her as euphoric; something he didn’t want to end. And that’s what ‘Honey, Let Me In’ is about. You’re with someone you love dearly and you just want them to stay with you, in that moment – forever.”

‘Honey, let me in’ was recorded in Lee’s bedroom in January 2021, wonderfully showcasing his talents not only as a writer, but also as a producer.

The music video for ‘Honey, Let Me In’ was shot by Dream Media, the same company who created the video for ‘Pink Dragons’, and was filmed at Orange Orbit in Randburg.

Lee explains the music video for “Honey, Let Me In”

“When I was considering the video for ‘Honey, Let Me In’ I played around the idea of having fun. I decided to showcase that – although my music is mainly very serious – I am by nature not too serious. I also wanted to experiment with greenscreen and to showcase my performance with a band for people who have never seen me live. As a result, this is the first video that doesn’t directly tie in with the theme of the song – but its major fun and that’s all that matters.”

What was a challenging year for most, saw Lee Cole rise into mainstream success with two chart-topping singles during 2020.

    Lee comments on 2020

“2020 was indeed a breakout year for my career and I’m forever grateful. The most important thing it taught me is that timing is everything and when it’s your time, there’s not much you can do to change it being your time. My only focus now is to build on this momentum and share more music with people.”

His fanbase has grown in leaps and bounds over the past year as well and Lee Cole is forever grateful for the support he has been receiving:

“Thank you so much for your support. It honestly brings me so much joy when I receive videos of people singing my songs or messages where people tell me that my song helped them through their day. I promise you, 2021 has even more in store than 2020.”

With vocal influences ranging from rock titans Queen and AC/DC, to pop icon Michael Jackson, Lee Cole’s sound has been shaped by the multiple genres that he’s taken in over the years, resulting in a pop-rooted sound that’s flecked with his unique vocal stylings and ‘Honey, Let Me In” is the culmination of all of these elements.
