Rising South African vocalist KG Moepyë (born Kgomotso Nosipho Moepye) unveils her debut single, “Mandingasuki”.
This isn’t just another song; it is a full-fledged gospel choir robe-wearing, hallelujah-inducing anthem that celebrates the power of gratitude and faith.
Moepyë, a native of Tsakane township East of Johannesburg, has known her calling since belting out solos in church choirs at the tender age of seven.
Her musicality is a birthright, flowing through her veins like the rich melodies of her family’s heritage.
“Mandingasuki” wasn’t birthed from hardship, but from a profound place of contentment. KG Moepyë explains
“I wrote the song when I was in a very good place in my life. I didn’t want to move from that position of gratitude, peace, and joy. Of which I believe all these are our choice. Practicing gratitude is our choice. And we also choose who and what brings peace and joy in our lives.”
The song soars with the support of a heavyweight jazz ensemble featuring the talents of Mduduzi Mathebula on bass, TeeKay Nedaru on guitar, Musa Maseko on horns, Ntsako (N.O.D) Ngobeni on drums, and the co-producer himself, Twaki Mthimkhulu on piano.
“Mandingasuki” is more than a song; it’s a prayer. It’s a full-body embrace of the divine, a recognition that a higher power paves the way through life’s triumphs and tribulations.
Prepare to be uplifted, to have your spirit touched by Moepyë’s soaring vocals and the infectious energy of “Mandingasuki”.
Driven by her unwavering passion for music, KG Moepyë is currently expanding her knowledge in the art of Jazz education. This dedication to her craft is further amplified by her current role as a singer in the United Arab Nations.
Much like the international reach of her voice, “Mandingasuki” promises to resonate with listeners across the globe.
