Gerald Clark has earned multiple award nominations for his exceptional musical talents. His album Sweepslag garnered a nomination for a prestigious South African Music Award (SAMA), showcasing his remarkable songwriting and musicianship.
His second album, Black Water, catapulted him to international recognition when the title track’s music video was nominated for an MTV Europe Animation Award. His music has been featured on national television and found a home on major radio stations in South Africa.
In 2016, Gerald was nominated for Best Solo Act at one of South Africa’s prominent art and culture festivals, Die Woordfees, competing against the legendary Yvonne Chaka Chaka.
Throughout his career, Gerald Clark has had the privilege of working with South Africa’s finest musicians both on and off stage. His latest album, Afrocoustic, features contributions from members of the Johnny Clegg Band and Freshly Ground, two South African groups with substantial international followings. The album was produced by the legendary Barry Van Zyl, known for his work with Johnny Clegg, Annie Lennox, Carlos Santana, and Robert Plant.
Gerald’s music has touched hearts across the globe, with three successful tours in the Czech Republic, spanning over 40 different towns.
He has also graced audiences in the UK, Isle of Man, The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, and Slovakia. Gerald Clark is gearing up for his fourth tour in the Czech Republic in 2023, along with festival and club performances throughout Europe. He has previously rocked the stages of the biggest festivals, theaters, and venues in South Africa, Namibia, Zambia, Swaziland, and Mozambique.
