Durban-based DJ and promoter DJ Mpho Raiza (real name Mpho Bhengu) has officially made his mark as a recording artist with the release of his debut single, “Ngyabonga Nkosi.”
Sung in Zulu and featuring a 3-step Afrobeat rhythm, a rich chord progression, and gospel-inspired lyrics, the track delivers a message of gratitude that effortlessly connects the church and the dancefloor.

With over 23 years of experience in the South African house music scene, DJ Mpho Raiza has earned a reputation for electrifying dancefloors with his signature mix of Deep, Soulful, Vocal, and Melodic House.
His journey has led him to perform at Durban’s most popular venues, including Mojos Car Wash & Shisanyama, Club Tilt, Egagasini Bar, Wave Café Sport Bar, Crystal Lounge, and Sheins Carwash & Shisanyama.
Having shared the stage with industry giants such as Oskido, Black Coffee, Glen Lewis, Christos, and Ralf Gum, DJ Mpho Raiza is well-acquainted with the heartbeat of South Africa’s house music culture.
As the creator of the Insomnia Nites parties and Poolside Sessions, he has cemented his role in curating unforgettable house music experiences.
Now, with the launch of his record label, MGB Sounds, DJ Mpho Raiza is extending his influence beyond the DJ booth and into music production. “Ngyabonga Nkosi” is just the start, with an exciting lineup of new releases planned for 2025, aimed at nurturing Durban’s musical talent.
