Since his meteoric rise in the music industry after debuting last year, Archi has released his much-anticipated debut album, These Thoughts.

Following the success of his earlier works, including two EPs, the time has come for Archi to present this collection. The title These Thoughts perfectly captures the essence of the album – a series of deeply personal reflections.

“Choosing this title was a meaningful way to introduce the project as a compilation of my thoughts and experiences,” Archi shares.

The album’s lead single, “Breakdown,” is poised to become the ultimate summer pop anthem. The track explores the intricate emotions tied to confronting life’s challenges and the escape found in being busy and partying.

“’Breakdown’ was inspired by those moments when life feels overwhelming and unclear,” Archi explains. “Instead of shutting down, staying busy and partying becomes the primary way to cope.” The artist wrote and produced the single himself over the course of two days.

When selecting tracks for These Thoughts, Archi reveals that his approach is intentional. “I usually only finish songs I genuinely like, which simplifies the song selection process. There was only one song I considered but ultimately left off the album.”

He did, however, experiment with different track orders to achieve the ideal flow. “Arranging the sequence gave me small transitional ideas, such as the water effect between ‘Besides the Point’ and ‘Misses Love,’ and the monologue on ‘Set in Stone.’”

Choosing a favorite track from the album was challenging for Archi, but he settled on ‘Loneliness’ and ‘Never Again.’

“‘Loneliness’ holds deep personal meaning because I connect profoundly with what I was writing, and it pushed me further into the alternative sound. ‘Never Again’ represents my growth in skills and taste since I first wrote it at the start of lockdown in 2020,” he explains.

Born in Mauritius and raised in Johannesburg, Archi’s diverse background and unique musical journey have influenced his distinctive sound. “Music has always been a major part of my life, though it took me a while to recognize it,” he reflects.

Drawing inspiration from artists like Amy Winehouse, Gorillaz, Mac Miller, and Anderson .Paak, as well as classic bands like The Beatles and The Zombies,

Archi aims to blend these influences into a sound that is uniquely his. He continues to push the boundaries of the music scene and is set to become a major artist emerging from South Africa.
