South African artist Dan Duminy released his latest single, ‘In My Head’ via M4 Entertainment in April 2024. Born Daniel Wesley Duminy, Dan transitioned from a career in racing to pursue his passion for music, captivating audiences with his soulful R&B sound and introspective lyrics.
“In My Head” was inspired by Duminy’s personal experience of encountering everyday objects that trigger memories of past love.
“It’s a song about the nostalgia of ordinary things we see on a daily basis to keep the memory of past love alive in our minds,” Duminy explains.
Collaborating with producer Jordan James from Utah, Duminy found a seamless partnership that brought his vision to life.
Reflecting on his journey in the music industry, Duminy shares, “I really trusted God to guide me to where I wanted to go next.”
From his early days as a social media sensation to his transition into music, Duminy’s passion for creating authentic and relatable music has remained unwavering.
As we look towards the rest of the year, Dan has plenty in store for you. “Definitely a lot more music and a lot more from Dan Duminy in general,” he shares. “But I can confirm that I will be dropping an EP sometime this year which I am very excited about.”

Duminy’s journey in music began with the release of his debut single, “Paradise,” in 2020, followed by successful collaborations with artists such as Nasty C and Blxckie. His dedication to his craft and commitment to authenticity have solidified his place in the music industry, with fans eagerly anticipating his upcoming EP set to drop in June 2024.
The video concept for “In My Head” delves into Duminy’s personal journey of self-improvement and introspection following the end of a long-term relationship. The narrative begins with Duminy making breakfast and then becoming engrossed in his phone’s pictures, triggering a series of memories with his former partner.
The visual storytelling transports viewers through the highs of the past relationship, ultimately returning to Duminy in the present, lost in thought on his couch from morning until night. The poignant portrayal perfectly encapsulates the essence of being “In My Head,” offering an intimate glimpse into Duminy’s emotional state.
