Known for his heartfelt lyrics and acoustic charm, Charlie invites listeners to escape into a world of cherished memories, imagined landscapes, and hope for what lies ahead.

A New Era with Keep Guessing Charlie

This single marks a special milestone in Charlie’s journey—it’s the first track recorded with his full band, Keep Guessing Charlie, featuring longtime collaborators Shaun Ruysenaar on drums and Andre Feldmann on bass.

Their synergy adds a refreshing energy to Charlie’s acoustic-driven sound, blending melodic intimacy with a rock-inspired edge.

“It’s about happy places—real and imagined,” Charlie says. “The kind of song that makes you want to close your eyes and just wander.”

Charlies Harris: From Johannesburg Roots to Folk-Rock Resonance

Charlie Harris grew up in Johannesburg, where his love for music was sparked by the sounds of his uncle’s guitar and drums. At 13, he got his first guitar—a birthday gift that would shape his path as a songwriter.

Despite early struggles with stage fright, Charlie honed his craft through open mic nights, finding courage in the support of fellow musicians. That journey has taken him from early bands like Hemisphere and Radio Unfriendly to Keep Guessing, a project that fully embraces his evolving sound and creative spirit.

“The name ‘Keep Guessing’ came from the unpredictability of the creative process,” he explains. “And that idea is deeply woven into our music.”

    Looking Ahead

Following the success of his two-part album series, Digital Dust – Side A and Digital Dust – Side B, Charlie is entering an exciting new chapter. “There is a Place” is the first of many new releases lined up for 2025, promising even more warmth, honesty, and musical growth.

“This song is an invitation,” Charlie says. “To dream, to reflect, and to hold onto the beauty of both memory and imagination.”
