2022 sees a new chapter in Carla Franco’s music identity. With the upcoming release of her debut album later this year, she introduces the world to the first chapter of her greater story with a timeless, immortal and personal offering. Today’s sees the release of her debut single from her new album, entitled ‘When You’re Ready’.

Hailing from Bloemfontein, and currently residing in Johannesburg, Carla Franco’s love for music started at a young age with her first piano lesson at the age of 7. Carla was born with a hearing impairment, suffers from 20-30% hearing loss and has been wearing hearing aids for many years.
Ironically, ‘When You’re Ready’ was the last single written and added to her new album. A catchy, pop offering – the single provides an insight into the new chapter of Carla Franco’s music career whilst setting the tone that her new album will still hold dear her roots of acoustic, folk and rock music. The single features CARLA’s signature acoustic guitar, suggesting that her core sound is still in the midst whilst morphing both into the music she has longed to create and the music she listens to.
Showcasing the shift in her sound and the versatility of her songwriting, ‘When You’re Ready’ was inspired by her partner and the notion of ‘I’m ready whenever you are’ when entering into a new relationship. ‘When You’re Ready’ is the ultimate feel good, singalong song which will strike a chord with the listener when you least expect it.

“If you could imagine someone picked up a guitar one day and wrote a corny love song, this is it – but with a hip hop and funk twist. For the fans that have followed my music journey thus far – this will be a new side to me that I hope they’ll enjoy. For the new fans and fans at large, they can look forward to the unexpected.
