Stitched together with poetic lyrics expressing captivating passion and melodic emotion Ashcoustics’ debut EP No More commands the pursuit of the love and life you deserve.

From standing up to being taken advantage of in “No More”, to rejecting unrequited love in “It’s Your Turn” and “Keep Knocking”, and coming to terms with letting go of toxic behaviours in “Guilty Pleasure”, the EP weaves a tapestry of the journey to self-acceptance.

Decorated with smooth yet powerful vocals, warm acoustic goodness and rich vibrations that lift and fall harmonically with the storylines of each song Ashcoustics’ EP, produced and recorded by Ollyvans Studios, is an inspiring introduction to this young artist’s repertoire.

Ready to take her career to the next level from performing local gigs, Ash held down 3 jobs to self-fund the recording of her EP as well as a music video shoot. Although a daunting task to take on as an independent artist, the EP and music video have received an impressive reception since it’s release.

    Ashcoustics

To promote this long-awaited milestone Ash hosted a successful EP Launch Party at Harrington’s Cocktail Lounge on the 20th of April, filling the well-known live music venue with musos and music lovers alike. The night started with intimate collaborative performances where she invited other talented artists in Cape Town to share the stage with her, such as Stanley Sibande, Alanna Joy & Charlie Charles from Lost//Youth, and Lukin Joshua.

This was then followed by a full band performance of her original music featuring the songs from the EP and ended off on a high note with a screening of her debut music video co-produced with Adam Hansen and shot by Alexandre Ortscheit.

Continuing to ride the sonic wave of her release Ashcoustics will be heading to America in June and then Europe later in October to promote her EP further and explore new horizons. She is a force to be reckoned with and is only just getting started.

To get an idea of her sound, check out the video for “No More” below:

    Ashcoustics comments on “No More”

”No More is an anthem for the people pleasers used and abused for way too long. A bold statement of self-acceptance regardless of other opinions and a re-birth of identity. The start of self-love and the end of self-sacrificing peace for those who don’t deserve it.”
