Get your floaties ready — South Africa’s beloved riverside festival, Up The Creek, is back! Set to run from 5–8 February 2026 on the banks of the Breede River near Swellendam, the festival is presented by Jose Cuervo and has already generated massive hype. Early Bird tickets sold out within hours, breaking all previous Creek records.
A Star-Studded Line-up
The first phase of artists for 2026 has been revealed, promising an electrifying experience. Confirmed acts include Jeremy Loops, Van Pletzen, Southern Wild, Jackal & the Wind, Nomadic Orchestra, Rubber Duc, Tree63, Droomsindroom, Zaan Sonnekus, Paradise Citizen, David Derman, Dirty Disco Records, Faker Streets, and Namibia’s The Ell.
“We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to secure artists who embody the spirit of the Creek,” says Damon Forbes, Festival Co-Owner and MD of BreakOut Events. “Expect newcomers, surprises, collaborations, and sets that will keep you dancing from the riverbanks to the main stage.”
The River Is the Heart of the Experience
Festival director Caitlin Hanley highlights that Up The Creek is as much about the environment as it is about the music.
“There’s something about Up The Creek that you can’t find anywhere else,” Hanley explains. “The river is the heartbeat of the festival – it’s where strangers become friends. Live music always sounds better out under the stars.”
Alongside the performances, attendees can enjoy swims, river floats, food trucks, dance-offs, and upgraded camping or glamping options for those who prefer a softer landing.
Up The Creek has been keeping It Real for 35 Years
Now in its 35th year, Up The Creek stays true to its roots: no VIP areas, no fuss, just music and community.
“It’s our mission to keep Up The Creek as green, clean, and sustainable as possible so future generations can enjoy the same magic we’ve already enjoyed,” Hanley adds.
