One of South Africa’s premier cultural highlights, RMB Starlight Classics, returns this March 2026, promising an inspiring fusion of classical and contemporary performances.
Under RMB’s signature AfroSymphonic banner, the event brings together internationally acclaimed musicians, rising stars, and a repertoire that spans generations.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Vergelegen’s Homestead and Wine Estate on Friday, 13 March, and Saturday, 14 March, the Starlight series blends tradition with modern innovation, while continuing RMB’s commitment to supporting the country’s creative economy.
RMB Starlight Classics Will Feature Artistic Excellence and World-Class Programming
Renowned for artistic excellence and world-class production, this year’s line-up features orchestral masterworks alongside fresh reinterpretations and unforgettable moments.
Audiences can look forward to iconic pieces from Bizet, Rossini, Strauss, Chopin, Jim Steinman, Peter Gabriel, Laurika Rauch, Labrinth, and Alan Menken, offering a taste of the musical journey in store.
Carolynne Waterhouse of RMB comments, “We aim to present a programme that honours legacy while embracing innovation, with uniquely African collaborations that explore the versatility of every genre featured.”
Star-Studded Line-Up
Highlights of the diverse program include South African mezzo-soprano Meghan Kahts, Operalia 2017 winner tenor Levy Sekgapane, Afro-soul singer-songwriter Msaki, rock legend Arno Carstens, female pop trio Blackbyrd, rising star Sethabile Hlabangane, and the next generation from The Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA).
Anchoring the performances is the internationally acclaimed Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Brandon Phillips, Chad Hendricks, and Chevonne Plaatjies.
Levy Sekgapane reflects, “Starlight Classics in 2024 was a career highlight, and performing at home makes it even more special. I’m thrilled to be part of the upcoming musical spectacle in Cape Town.”
