London-based enigma Lunar & The Deception have unveiled their latest single, “Your Monsters,” on February 3, 2026, via X-Ray Sound.
The track sets the stage for their upcoming album, The Somnambulist, due March 6, 2026. The band’s rise has included supporting Pussy Riot at Glastonbury Festival, commanding stages across London, and making waves at the 2022 Sync Summit Music Conference.

Co-produced with Michael Rendall, known for collaborations with The Orb, Peter Murphy, and Killing Joke, “Your Monsters” arrives as Lunar & The Deception’s live reputation continues to soar.
Recognition has followed, including Artist of the Week at Richer Sounds and a glowing 9/10 review from Powerplay Magazine, cementing their bold presence in the worlds of indie rock, dream pop, and neo-psychedelia.
South African Roots and Global Influence
Fronted by vocalist Britt Xyra Dusk, the band blends international and South African influences. Britt, originally from Durban, is a London-based songwriter and professional costume designer celebrated for her activism and spellbinding performances. She also crafts the band’s visuals, drawing inspiration from ancient deities, prophetic sorcerers, and tribal warriors.
Percussionist Hedge Seel, raised near the Rollright Stones in Oxfordshire, expanded his rhythmic approach through travels in Southeast Asia and India.
The line-up also features dub producer Thomas Hammond and sound engineer Greg Chapter. Together, they fuse alt-rock, indie rock, darkwave, dream pop, gothic, and neo-psychedelia, channeling influences from Led Zeppelin, Radiohead, and Tool. Their sound has been compared to Portishead, Evanescence, and Esben & The Witch.
The Sound of “Your Monsters”
“Your Monsters” opens with cascading piano keys layered over a subdued bass line, with Britt’s haunting vocals instantly establishing a mood of quiet urgency.
Guitars add a dark, swirling neo-psychedelic edge, evoking the dramatic weight of classic goth-rock. Frequent modulations shift between major and minor chords, building tension alongside Hedge Seel’s precise drumming.
The chorus explodes into a powerful, anthemic cry, combining the classical piano undercurrent with heavy guitar drive for a theatrical, crushing sound.
Towards the end, swelling strings and brass intersect with mystical vocal harmonies, creating cinematic grandeur. The track closes with only an echo of vocals, delivering a hauntingly quiet yet cathartic finale.
Lunar & The Deception are exploring Love and Darkness
On the meaning behind the song, the band shared: “‘Your Monsters’ is a song that captures the raw tenderness of love while confronting the darker forces that surface when two people collide. It lays bare the beauty and brutality of relationships where affection and destruction exist side by side. When passion gives way to conflict.”
