Louise Carver returns with her new single “My Love”, a deeply personal modern love song shaped by emotional honesty and her signature songwriting.
Written in the early post-Covid years, the track was inspired by a challenging experience when her partner, exhausted from remote work for an American start-up, joined her on a restorative holiday to Chidenguele.

However, the journey home took a dramatic turn when thieves stole her partner’s bag just across the South African border, containing a laptop, Kindle, and other belongings.
The emotional impact of that moment sparked the creation of “My Love”, with Carver capturing the themes of support, care, and resilience.
Louise Carver’s New Song is About Love as Action
Carver explains that the song is for anyone who has carried a partner through difficult times, emphasizing that love is an active commitment. “This song simply says: I see you and everything you do for me… now let me carry you for a while,” she shares.
To bring the song to life, she collaborated once again with producer Garrick Jones of Audio Militia, whose edgy pop production style helped blend vulnerability with uplift.
The track balances emotional depth with an evolved pop-rock edge, creating what Carver describes as a “happy/sad” sound.
A two-time Billboard #1 artist, Carver has built a career defined by powerful vocals, genre-defying releases, and international success.
From her breakthrough hit “It Don’t Matter” at 17 to chart-toppers like “Play the Game” and “Sunrise”, she has maintained a dynamic presence on both local and global stages.
Her seventh studio album, Dark Secrets, earned her a SAMA win in 2023, and her 2025 single “Crush On You” marked a joyful return to the pop arena.
Live Performances and Festival Debut
Carver will also make her first appearance at the iconic Splashy Fen Music Festival in April 2026, joining an exciting lineup of local and international artists for the festival’s 35th anniversary in the Southern Drakensberg.
With “My Love”, Louise Carver continues her journey of heartfelt storytelling, combining resilience, emotional honesty, and a sound that balances melancholy with hope, reaffirming her place as one of South Africa’s most enduring and beloved musical voices.
