Louise Carver and Ard Matthews are two of SA`s most popular and successful artists and getting them together on the same stage, as the sun sets over one of the Western Cape`s most picturesque outdoor venues, is going to be a very special occasion.

South Africa`s iconic songstress Louise Carver has had an incredible journey over decades. Her various accolades from then, till her SAMA win now, shows that this remarkable artist has been captivating audiences and critics alike for many years.

Louise Carver comments on her SAMA 2023 win for her album “Dark Secrets” in the Best Adult Contemporary Album category

“I released my first album at nineteen when I was still at university, and then traveled to London to start working in the dance genre, whilst at the same time, making music for my second album entitled ‘Silent Scream’. I released ‘Silent Scream’ through Sony Music SA and it was then that I heard of the SAMA’s ( South African Music Awards) for the first time, as my album was nominated for best adult contemporary album.”

“I didn’t win that year, nor did I win for the next 10 SAMA nominations I received. I was starting to lose hope that I would ever get this prestigious award and then, seventeen years after my first nomination, my new album, ‘Dark Secrets’, written during lockdown, received a SAMA nomination for best adult contemporary album. I didn’t want to get my hopes up so I just carried on and tried not to think about it.”

“When the winner was announced and it was me, I couldn’t believe it. I felt so validated and appreciated by the country I love so much. As a musician, you go through many highs and lows on your journey. I have placed this award on my piano so that every time I feel low and disheartened, it can encourage me to keep creating and making original music that resonates with people.”

The charismatic frontman of Just Jinjer Ard Matthews always captivates audiences, both with his band and as a solo artist. His solo performances are intimate affairs, where he shares his indelible lyrics, enchanting ballads, and heartfelt stories from a life that has been nothing short of colorful and enchanted.

Fans leave his shows feeling like cherished friends, having been part of a unique and personal storytelling experience that only Ard Matthews can provide. Ard released a brand new single on Friday 17 November titled “Tell Everyone” and will also include the song in his set at Stanford Hills.

Louise Carver says that she is looking forward to be performing with Ard again

“He is the real deal, unique and always true to himself. Our voices blend beautifully together and hearing him sing on my hit songs like ‘Home’ is a very special experience. This show is a real mash- up of our big hits plus a few surprises, all in the most breathtaking setting.”

Ard says that he has always enjoyed performing alongside Louise

”She brings a much-needed touch of female grace and class that complements my music beautifully.”

Join them on 28 December 2023 at Stanford Hills, where the magic of your favorite South African Music comes to life. There will be a variety of foodstalls, bars and views of the Klein River Mountains as these multi award winning artists perform all their biggest hits plus join each for a few special numbers.
