Since releasing her debut album, Pula-Molomo, in 2016, she has performed on prominent stages across Africa. Notably, she was one of the first artists supported by ALTBLK>>, a platform founded by Msaki to uplift distinctive African independent musicians.
Leomile’s latest work is a six-track Alternative Folk EP titled Nevermind
The first single, released in August, earned her a spot on the cover of Spotify’s ALTER-native playlist, along with extensive press and radio coverage.
Nevermind is an ode to rebirth and self-renewal, guiding listeners through a layered romantic journey, from the excitement of courtship to the pain of separation. The EP explores the complexities of love shaped by unequal give-and-take, encouraging reflection as Leomile balances nurturing the relationship with preserving her own identity.
The narrative underscores the importance of honoring the natural flow of relationships, highlighting their role in fostering self-awareness and personal growth. Ultimately, the EP advocates for self-responsibility over self-doubt, cultivating a deep sense of self-intimacy that stands independent of external validation.
