North London artist Doller has made a powerful return with his latest Traphall single, “Who Hype? Who Bruk,” released on 20 August via the Beyond Dis World imprint.
Known for his dynamic sound and compelling performances, Doller has garnered support from publications such as NOTION, Wordplay Magazine, and GRM Daily, and has featured in MTV Base adverts, reaching a wider audience.
Rising Recognition
Doller first gained recognition with his track “Skadoosh,” featured in the film Sket, cementing his reputation in the industry.
He has toured internationally, including a notable performance in Dortmund, Germany, alongside UK-based Jamaican reggae singer Cblock. He has also headlined major events like the Hackney Social’s Wynters Wonder List and the Sing for Me Tour with British grime MC, rapper, songwriter, and actor Ghetts.
His music receives regular airplay on BBC Radio 1Xtra, championed by prominent DJs such as DJ Target, Sian Anderson, and Seani B. His track “This Year” earned BBC Track of the Week in 2021, further establishing his influence in the UK Dancehall, Trap, and Grime scenes.
Doller’s Musical Roots and Evolution
Emerging in the North London grime scene as Doller, Dorante Johnson was inspired by his musical family — including his roots reggae singer father, Kush Tafari, and Dancehall deejay uncle, Flash. Early experience came through DIY mixtapes, local clashes, and co-founding the crew Cold Blooded.
Doller later joined the supergroup The Movement, gaining recognition from prominent DJs and performing a celebrated Westwood freestyle. He has collaborated with artists like Sir Spyro and Tion Wayne while developing his label, Go Getters, and even producing a culinary YouTube series.
Traphall and Influences
Doller’s signature Traphall sound is a hard-hitting fusion of Trap and Dancehall, often incorporating elements of rap and R&B. Tracks like “Money Song” showcase his versatility, while his influences range from Vybz Kartel, 50 Cent, Jay Z, Nas, Biggie, Durtty Doogz, to Jodeci.
Produced by Slaybad Musiq with mixing by Bruts, known for his work with Skepta, Wiley, and Alesha Dixon, “Who Hype? Who Bruk” delivers a menacing Traphall soundscape that will resonate with fans of Skillibeng, Bayka, Aidonia, Valiant, and Masicka.
Bold Anthem with a Message
“Who Hype? Who Bruk” combines a brooding instrumental with syncopated drum rhythms that support Doller’s defiant vocal delivery. Call-and-response choruses and his suave flow make the track a bold, memorable anthem.
Doller shared: “I wanted everybody in the world to feel comfortable with their financial status and have an anthem to celebrate that.”
