Today I’m featuring the music video for the Die Heuwels Fantasties song, “Sonrotse”. It’s an amazing bit of videography. This Afrikaans electro band blasted onto the South African music scene in 2009. Recently the band released a new video for their song, “Sonrotse” (directly translated as “Sun Rocks” in English).
Die Heuwels Fantasties are definitely one of my current favorite artists in South Africa. They truly impressed me with their performance at Oppikoppi this year.
“Sonrotse” is taken off their self-titled debut album released earlier this year. DHF are performing on the 19th of September in Hatfield Sqaure in Pretoria at Vrede Fest III along with aKING and a few other bands. I might attend this yearly event this year since it’s in my hometown, Pretoria. A performance by VanFokKingTasties is planned at the Sun City Superbowl for the 24th of September this year (Heritage day in South Africa).
The name, VanFokkingTasties, is actually made up out of 4 different band names. DHF will be performing live along with their friends Van Coke Cartel, aKING and Fokofpolisiekar. This promises to be a legendary and memorable gig for anyone who is a fan of South African music. I’m sure we’ll see more of this band in the future, maybe even a new album by next year.
