South African singer-songwriter Babette is back with a stirring new single, “Needed Your Love,” blending elements of pop-rock and alternative pop. The track explores the emotional journey of heartbreak, healing, and learning to trust again, delivering a narrative that resonates deeply with listeners.

With its uplifting melodies and heartfelt lyrics, “Needed Your Love” represents an exciting evolution in Babette’s music, offering fans an experience that’s both reflective and energizing.

The song was co-written by Babette, whose real name is Elizabeth Labuschagne, and acclaimed producer-songwriter Mark Beling. Together, they have crafted a piece that speaks to the universal desire for connection after loss, capturing the vulnerability and resilience required to open one’s heart once more.

Lyrically, the song navigates the delicate process of rebuilding trust—whether in others or oneself. It’s a story of daring to love again, even when it feels safer to stay closed, and discovering that new love can emerge when least expected.

Babette explains the inspiration behind the track: “Healing from a broken relationship doesn’t stop when the relationship ends. True healing happens when we allow ourselves to be vulnerable again.” She adds, “You can only heal so much on your own. Restoring trust takes real-life experiences with real people, and sometimes it starts with trusting yourself enough to take that leap.”

Confident in its impact, Babette believes “Needed Your Love” will resonate with listeners. “It’s deep, but it has that edge that makes you want to turn up the volume and sing along,” she says. The track encourages audiences to remember that love is always within reach, and that embracing trust can be transformative. “I hope this single reaches someone who’s lost faith in love and helps them believe again,” she adds.

The official music video, produced by Zander de Beer, features a talented creative team: Hendrik Odendaal captured behind-the-scenes moments, Michelle Jacobsz handled makeup and hair, and Jaco Ras created atmospheric lighting that enhanced the visual narrative.

Lead performer Sebastian Williamson brings depth and authenticity to the story, which was filmed across vibrant locations including Maboneng in Melville, a pine forest in Bryanston, and Babette’s studio. Each setting adds unique texture to the video’s emotional landscape.
