Ziggy Alberts Releases Acoustic Video for “Tattoos”

Today, platinum ARIA accredited artist, Ziggy Alberts drops the Acoustic Video for his first new single for 2022, ‘Tattoos’. Harnessing his smooth vocals, signature melodies and catchy lyrics, ‘Tattoos‘ makes for another euphonious ‘stuck-in-you-head’ track from the singer-songwriter.

    Ziggy Alberts explains “Tattoos”

“It’s about our current identity crisis, lockdowns, self-care, grounding and the importance of self-expression. I really enjoyed sneaking in some of my own self-care rituals in this story; carbon balms, cymatics, mycelial relief and ceremonial cacao.”

“Tattoos” is the sister song to his track ‘Don’t get caught up’ from his 2021 album Searching for Freedom. Alberts sets to remind us with the lyrics of ‘Tattoos’ why “it is of utmost importance – now more than ever – to not only wear each other’s shoes but take the shoes off altogether and see we are one and the same.”

Ziggy Alberts’ most recent album, Searching for Freedom, landed #1 on the AIR Album Chart (Independent Labels) and #5 on the ARIA Top 20 Australian Albums chart in the first week of release. The album has received praise from the likes of American Songwriter, Atwood Magazine and Rolling Stone France.

Ziggy was awarded another nine new Aria Accreditations in April 2021. This brings his accredited repertoire total to six Gold Singles, one Gold Album, seven Platinum Singles, one Double Platinum single and one Platinum EP.

Here are some press quotes about Ziggy Alberts

“Ziggy Alberts has always imbued his art with a special aura – this ineffable warm glow resonating throughout his songs – yet never before has he shined as bright or sounded as bold as he does on his fifth studio album. The coastal folk singer/songwriter turns his visceral inward focus out on society and the world at large in searching for freedom, a record whose powerful messages of sustainability, peace, justice, and understanding are sure to resonate with all who listen.”– Atwood, UK

“… “heartbeat” is a piece of easy-going acoustic pop. It is a simple and timeless formula but one Alberts pulls off to great effect… he delivers the romantic track with an earnest passion that even the most cynical will find hard to resist.”- Under the Radar Magazine, US

“Folk-hewn but modern-facing, his work sits alongside those early Ben Howard cuts or even Jack Johnson, that kind of slick but still endearingly earnest musicality.” – Clash, UK

“For fans who’ve been following Ziggy’s career from day dot, his increasing popularity wouldn’t come as a shock. To everyone else, the Ziggy story is probably still something of a surprise. He’s a self-made success, and it’s a grassroots swell plenty of people are getting behind” – Triple J
