His compositions serve as a backdrop for narrative lyrics that often explore the darker aspects of the human condition and his personal journey through these themes.
Stanley Sibande has released a new single titled “Mucalo Cesu.” Featuring a delicate acoustic guitar that evolves as the song progresses, this latest release marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another, like taking a deep, fresh breath.
Co-produced by Stanley Sibande and Floris Le Roux of FPL Audio in June 2023, “Mucalo Cesu” faced delays due to distribution issues. Its release is a welcome event as Stanley prepares for his debut United Kingdom tour next month.
Sung in Bemba and written by Stanley, this reflective single emphasizes the importance of staying true to meaningful friendships despite their ups and downs.

Stanley Sibande’s performance style honors the early 2000s post-grunge and hard rock scene with loud, raspy, melodic vocals and a rhythm-driven acoustic guitar sound.
He started his musical journey singing with his siblings and joined his first band during a gap year in 2013, where he learned guitar and began composing music influenced by artists like Hozier and Linkin Park. He later formed his own band with a hard rock/alt-metal style, inspired by BMTH and Slipknot.
In 2018, he went solo, slightly shifting his style. After completing his electrical engineering degree in 2017, he pursued music full-time. In 2019, he moved from Zambia to South Africa for better opportunities and signed with the independent label Just Music. He released his debut album Hopeless Dreams, which received critical acclaim.
