Soft Changa Drops Haunting New Single “Surely”

Soft Changa unveiled their intoxicating new single, “Surely”, on May 9, 2025, via House Of Frequency. Premiered by tastemaker platform This Song Is Sick, the track signals a compelling new chapter for the genre-defying duo.

Formed by producers Jo.Ke — the voice behind “Who Loves The Sun”, a Burning Man classic with over 350 million streams — and long-time collaborator ulises, Soft Changa continues to cement their reputation as one of electronic music’s most captivating emerging acts. They’ve delivered standout performances at WOMOON (Ibiza), Burning Man, and BRAVO GNP.

A Global Collaboration Rooted in Spirit and Sound

Emerging from Berlin’s underground, Jo.Ke first rose to fame through the iconic BAR25 scene. A poetic polyglot and core member of the downtempo collective Feathered Sun, he commands over 2.2 million monthly Spotify listeners and has released music on Platon Records, Circus Company, and Denature.

Originally from Buenos Aires, ulises is a multi-instrumentalist whose sonic journey blends folk circus, techno, and spirituals. His music fuses indigenous instruments with electronic textures and draws inspiration from Zen Buddhism, Borges, Dadaism, and Depeche Mode. His work has appeared on Sol Selectas, Scorpios Music, MoBlack Records, and Kiosk ID.

A Unique Sound That Bridges Eras

Together, Soft Changa channels an alchemical mix of the ancient and the futuristic — their sound is soulful, danceable, and deeply immersive. Influenced by visionaries like David Bowie, Brian Eno, and David Byrne, their sonic palette spans Indie Electronica and appeals to fans of WhoMadeWho, Monolink, and RÜFÜS DU SOL.

Inside the Emotion of Soft Changa‘s “Surely”

“Surely” is a kaleidoscopic blend of movement and introspection. A steady four-on-the-floor beat drives the track, layered with shuffling percussion, pulsing pads, hypnotic synths, dreamy guitar licks, and a melancholic vocal line yearning for someone absent — even amid euphoria.

Co-written by both members, the track is produced by ulises and mixed and mastered by Jan Siebert.

Soft Changa explains: “Our newest release ‘Surely’ talks about the feeling of missing that special person, especially and even more so when surrounded by people in the euphoric mood of a party. How no matter if you’re having a really good time and with plenty of friends and beautiful others, you just wish your loved one was there with you.”
