London-born folk storyteller Seth Tabatznik has released his latest single, “Shining For Love”, through Moth Music (Mother Of The Heart). The track debuted on EARMILK, adding to the growing attention around Seth’s work.
His earlier single “Choose To Be Alive” earned praise from global tastemaker CLASH Magazine, and despite only releasing music since 2024, he has already surpassed 100,000 streams.
His live journey is just as promising, with sold-out shows at Boschendal Estate in Cape Town and Green Note in Camden. As he prepares to release a second album in 2026, Seth is firmly establishing himself as a rising force in the indie folk world.
A Sound Rooted in Nature and Purpose
Raised in London and now nestled in the mountains of South Africa’s Western Cape, Seth creates music that feels both grounded and transcendent.
His blend of acoustic folk and medicine music reflects a deep respect for nature, carried by earthy harmonies and vulnerable lyricism.
Guided by acclaimed musician Nick Mulvey, who played a crucial role in shaping his upcoming album, and inspired by guitarist Rainer Scheurenbrand, Seth’s songwriting channels mentorship, lived experience, and spiritual inquiry. His new single “Shining For Love” continues this thread, appealing to fans of Bon Iver, Noah Kahan, and of course, Mulvey himself.
The Meaning Behind “Shining For Love”
“Shining For Love” unfolds like a quiet devotion to the natural world. Gentle acoustic guitars, warm devotional strings, and soft percussive textures create a contemplative soundscape where Seth’s vocals offer reverence and gratitude.
Seth Tabatznik explains the origin of the song in his own words: “This song came to me in a forest, spoken by the elements around me. It was like nature took my pen and transcribed the lyrics into my notebook, accompanied by a simple 4-chord progression.
I love how the song builds and accelerates as a celebration of life, love and nature. This song is about nature and how her every action comes from a place of love. Every sound, every movement, is her way of expressing herself, as she is one being, of which we are a part, not apart.”
