SAMA-nominated singer-songwriter Rowlene has returned with her new single “Don’t Give Up on Me”, the second release from her upcoming EP “Moments After”, set to drop on 30 May via ONErpm.
A Personal Anthem for Dreamers and Fighters
Following the success of “Breakaway”, Rowlene’s latest single is a vulnerable and powerful anthem about holding on to your dreams when everything around you seems uncertain. The track captures the internal battle of trying to stay true to your purpose despite fear, pressure, and loss.
“This is the most honest I’ve ever been in a song,” says Rowlene. “It’s about the fear of losing yourself while chasing something you love. The people who leave. The pressure to keep evolving. But mostly, it’s about not giving up—on yourself, or what you believe in.”
Sound, Story, and Solitude
Blending R&B and Afro-pop with haunting minimalism, “Don’t Give Up on Me” features emotive vocals that take centre stage. The raw production enhances the track’s introspective nature, while the accompanying visualiser offers a quiet but powerful look into solitude, reflection, and personal resilience.
The single also marks the first official announcement of her next project — “Moments After” — a deeply personal EP exploring growth, heartbreak, and reclaiming one’s sense of self. “’Moments After’ is about what happens after the fallout—after the breakaway. These songs are pieces of me I wasn’t ready to share before. Now I am,” she shares.
