Metallica celebrates James Hetfield's birthday

James Hetfield turned 57 on August 3 and as a celebration, Metallica went back twenty years for their Metallica Monday streams. On Hetfield’s 37th birthday the group had an incredible concert in Starplex Amphitheater in Dallas, Texas, on August 3, 2000. Metallica’s drummer Lars Ulrich posted on his Instagram account that the concert was “Extra wet and extra sweaty that night in the hot and humid Texan summer heat. Crazy fun times.”

However, that fun moment is not the main thing about the event. There is an amazing list of 18 songs that the group performs. The tracks include covers to Bob Seger’s songs Misfits and Anti-Nowhere League songs.

For the fans of exclusive stuff, the list includes Master Of Puppets x Welcome Home (Sanitarium) mash-up Mastertarium which was played only 29 times. Other great news is that Metallica is releasing S&M2 live concert video through Blackened Recordings.

Metallica to Release ‘S & M2’ Live Album, Concert Film With San Francisco Symphony

20 years after the first concert of the San Francisco Symphony and Metallica the collaboration happened again. Now, there is a documentary about S&M2 shows coming out that shows the live recordings of the concerts and the interviews. The show was recorded on September 6th and 8Th, 2019 at Chase Center in San-Francisco. It was the first concert in the brand new arena.

The concert is the second collaboration between Metallica and San Francisco Symphony since 1999. The concert consisted of 20 songs from Metallica’s 10 albums, at least one song from each, and delivered symphonic versions of these songs. The film is available for preorder and will be out on August 28th. The tickets for the concerts in late 2020 are still for sale.

There is some hope left that the spread of COVID-19 will be slowed down enough for these concerts to take place. The legendary band’s concerts would be the biggest event of 2020 since so many other musicians who had scheduled their tours in spring and summer had to cancel the shows. Metallica and other rock bands have been playing for different events. Biggest casino brands in North America, especially in Canada and the US throw private parties with big music bands.

Metallica has done private shows in casino buildings before and it happened in the last few years. As for new music videos and albums, fans believe that private shows could be on the road again. As the big concert halls are closed, casino buildings could be a good option. These types of nights are wild because invited guests can play roulette for real money or poker with challenges while listening to Metallica. These nights are memorable, so Metallica fans are ready for more VIP private shows on casino night.

Metallica is giving away $100,000 in scholarship money to this Kentucky college

College located near Louisville will receive the grant which will help cover the costs of education for 60 students. The scholarships will vary from $500 to $2,500. It will also help fund a new laboratory. Metallica’s program All Within My Hands (AWMH) aims at helping people out with technical education. “Ride the Lightning Learning Lab” which is a part of Kentucky’s Community and Technical College’s advanced manufacturing program will be funded with the same money. The scholarships are mostly for under-employed, under-payed communities, and people who have to work multiple jobs to support their families.
