Joshua Morris is an artist and producer hailing from the scenic coastal city of Cape Town, South Africa. Known for his unique fusion of gang vocals, distorted basslines, and psychedelic textures, Morris crafts a distinctive psych-pop sound reminiscent of Franc Moody, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and a “sunny” King Krule.
His musical journey began in the local psych-rock scene, where he fronted the band In Bloom. After sharing the stage with acts like DZ Deathrays, Morris expanded his horizons, establishing a recording studio in 2022 and dedicating 2024 to shaping his solo sound.

In a world dominated by algorithms, being a musician can feel like an absurd endeavor. From swipe-right dating to navigating an apocalyptic zeitgeist, Morris channels these experiences into his introspective creative process.
A self-described shy nice guy, he spent his days recording local artists and his nights quietly whispering song ideas into an SM7B microphone. As these ideas evolved, so did his ambitions: writing expanded lyrics, singing them himself, and finally performing with a band.
His debut single, “Make You Mine,” is the first result of this bold experiment. The indie-pop track critiques the unrealistic promises of modern digital romance.
With a mix of humor and sincerity, it examines the futility of possession in relationships, celebrating the freedom found in realizing that some connections were never meant to be “yours.”
