Ottawa’s own chart-topping singer-songwriter Jamie Fine returns with her heartfelt new single, “Homesick,” following this summer’s release of “I Will Wait For Forever.”

With this track, Jamie Fine continues to showcase her gift for crafting pop songs that are as emotionally resonant as they are catchy.

    Jamie Fine

A proud advocate for her hometown, Jamie has long celebrated Ottawa – whether through her support of the PWHL’s Ottawa Chargers or now, by dedicating “homesick” to the city itself. The song captures her deep-rooted connection to Ottawa and its people.

“Leaving home has always been tough for me, and coming back is what grounds and calms me the most,” Jamie shares. “Deciding to leave for career opportunities was one of the hardest choices I’ve ever made, and I wanted to write a song about my hometown letting me go – reminding me it would always be there for me when I returned. ‘Nothing’s gonna change and I hope you know, I’ll be ready when you’re ready to come home,’ are some of my favorite lyrics I’ve ever been a part of writing.”

While deeply personal, “Homesick” goes beyond Ottawa. It reflects the universal idea of what “home” means – whether tied to a place, a person, or a feeling of belonging.

    Touring Plans

Jamie Fine is set to bring her music back to the stage with the “If This Is It” headline tour, kicking off in South Africa this week. She’ll then co-headline the “Back To Life” cross-Canada tour with Shawn Desman starting in November.

    More info about Jamie Fine

Ottawa-born singer-songwriter Jamie Fine has built a career on her ability to channel raw emotion into unforgettable music. Her songs dive into universal feelings – from anger and isolation to joy and connection – creating safe, cathartic spaces for listeners to reflect and heal.

“Writing is my way of processing,” Jamie explains. “Sharing that music feels vulnerable, but it also opens the door for others to process their own emotions. Real connections – through conversations, through music – feed my soul.”

A four-time Juno nominee with more than 100 million global streams, Jamie’s music continues to resonate worldwide.

Her breakout single “If Anything’s Left” achieved Platinum status in Canada and Double Platinum in South Africa. With nearly 1.5 million global followers, she’s earned a devoted fanbase drawn to her energetic personality, quirky sense of humor, and fearless honesty.

As her star rises, Jamie Fine remains dedicated to creating inclusive, emotional spaces through her music – wherever home may be.
