The wait is over! The Frank Popp Ensemble is back with “Going Going Gone”, the first single and video from the highly anticipated new album Waves, set for release on April 11, 2025, via Unique Records / Schubert Music Europe.
This electrifying track features J Mahon, whose breath-taking vocals soar over the band’s signature fusion of Northern Soul, Psychedelia, ’90s Indie Rock, and orchestral soundtrack influences.

In addition to the digital release, fans can grab an exclusive limited-edition 7-inch vinyl featuring “Going Going Gone” and the album’s second single, available mid-March 2025.
More info about The Frank Popp Ensemble
Founded by Frank Popp around 2000, The Frank Popp Ensemble first made waves with their breakthrough track “High Voltage” (featured in Operation Swordfish) and the smash hit “Hip Teens Don’t Wear Blue Jeans”, which became a Coca-Cola campaign anthem and landed in the German Top 20.
Now, with Waves, Popp takes his signature sound to new heights, crafting an album that is both expansive and intimate, cinematic and dancefloor-ready.
Recorded in Spain in 2024, Waves features an all-star line-up of guest vocalists, including Gerry Love (Teenage Fanclub), Nicke Andersson (The Hellacopters, Entombed), Emma Noble, Audrey Ollesen, and J Mahon—who lends his velvet-smooth, androgynous vocals to five tracks, including “Going Going Gone”.
With its Motown-inspired brass hooks, lush grooves, and soulful swagger, “Going Going Gone” sets the stage for an album that is both a bold artistic statement and a euphoric listening experience.
Waves will be available digitally and on black & pink vinyl. Pre-orders start soon via Unique Records / Schubert Music Europe.
