Acclaimed producer and DJ Supta has teamed up with the versatile Peekay Mzee for a ground-breaking project, Black & White, releasing just a day before Supta celebrates his birthday.
DJ Supta, widely regarded as one of the leading names in South Africa’s 3-step and house music scene.
He has built a reputation for pushing sonic boundaries and delivering crowd-favourite anthems. His catalogue continues to grow in both quality and impact, cementing his role as a tastemaker and trendsetter.
Partnering with him is Peekay Mzee, the “Magumba” hitmaker and seasoned DJ hailing from Bloemfontein, Free State. Peekay has earned his place as a dynamic force in the music industry, consistently showcasing versatility and a distinctive approach to production.
The duo has a proven track record of success together, having previously collaborated on tracks such as “Abonondaba,” “Amajuba,” and “Moshikashika,” all of which have resonated with fans and dominated dance floors. With Black & White, they aim to elevate that synergy to new heights, delivering a project that is equal parts soulful, energetic, and deeply rooted in South Africa’s evolving soundscape.
“This is an EP for the masses,” says DJ Supta. “I believe it’s going to take us to December and to church at the same time. It’s about capturing all the emotions, all the moods, and giving fans music they can live with every day.”
Black & White promises a unique sonic journey, balancing rhythm and melody while reflecting the duality in its name: light and dark, groove and soul, celebration and reflection. With two masterful artists at the helm, this EP is poised to make waves not only locally but across the global music scene.
