Internationally acclaimed, multi-platinum, and award-winning artist, producer, and songwriter Charlie Puth has released his latest single, “Beat Yourself Up”, offering the first full glimpse into his forthcoming studio album, Whatever’s Clever!, due out on 27 March 2026.
The track marks the beginning of what Puth describes as his most personal and reflective musical chapter to date, blending emotional honesty with his signature pop craftsmanship.

A Song Born From Personal Reflection
“‘Beat Yourself Up’ started as something I wanted to tell a friend,” Puth explains. “We’ve never really been the heart-to-heart types, so I wrote it in a song instead.”
He adds that the message quickly expanded beyond its original intention. “I wanted him to know that even though he’s made mistakes, he shouldn’t be so hard on himself – that things will get better and he’s not alone. While writing it, I realised this wasn’t just for him, but for me and so many others who are tough on themselves. It’s about keeping going and learning to be kinder to yourself.”

Setting the Tone for a New Era
Co-produced by Charlie Puth alongside BLOODPOP, “Beat Yourself Up” continues to shape the sound and emotional direction of Whatever’s Clever!. The release is accompanied by an official music video directed by Hunter Moreno, reinforcing the song’s introspective tone.
The single arrives shortly after the announcement of Puth’s biggest world tour to date, which will see him performing to arena-sized crowds across multiple continents throughout the year.

More in about Charlie Puth
GRAMMY-nominated and multi-platinum artist Charlie Puth has established himself as one of pop music’s most consistent hitmakers and in-demand collaborators. His career achievements include more than 35 billion global streams, nine multi-platinum singles – including “Attention”, “We Don’t Talk Anymore”, and “See You Again” — four GRAMMY nominations, three Billboard Music Awards, a Critics’ Choice Award, and a Golden Globe nomination.
Puth is currently working on his fourth studio album, Whatever’s Clever!, which follows 2022’s CHARLIE. That album featured platinum-certified singles “Light Switch” and “Left and Right” featuring Jung Kook of BTS. In addition, his co-written and co-produced 2021 hit “Stay” for The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber topped the Billboard Global 200 for eleven weeks, while his collaboration with Gabby Barrett on “I Hope (Remix)” earned him another top-ten entry on the Billboard Hot 100.
With “Beat Yourself Up”, Puth opens the door to a more vulnerable, self-aware era — one that leans into honesty without losing its pop pulse.
