The rhythmic pulse of cross-continental creativity is set to rise once more as AmaGroove returns for its third edition, taking place from 22 to 29 March 2026 at Kromdraai Impact Hub.
Now firmly positioned as one of the continent’s most forward-thinking music residencies, AmaGroove continues to reshape artistic collaboration by uniting artists, producers and sonic innovators from South Africa and across the globe.

AmaGroove 2026: Expanding the Creative Horizon
The 2026 AmaGroove Residency promises an even deeper and more immersive experience, made possible through a collaborative partnership between Denmark’s largest community of composers and songwriters, Autor, the Riky Rick Foundation, the Danish Embassy in South Africa, Kromdraai Impact Hub and One Groove.
United by a shared vision, the partners aim to nurture artistic excellence, encourage cultural exchange and create sustainable opportunities for musicians at every stage of their careers.
Where Sound Meets Soul
Curated by Muneyi, a celebrated South African singer-songwriter whose indie-folk sound draws from Tshivenda culture and personal storytelling, AmaGroove has grown into a powerful platform for bold creative expression. Muneyi is joined on the curatorship programme by Mishy Kope, a 2025 AmaGroove Residency alumnus based in Cape Town, and Msaki, founder of ALTBLK Continua and a visionary artist deeply committed to creative expansion.
Beyond its world-class music-making, the residency has become known for cultivating partnerships that endure long after the sessions end. With a strong focus on community, experimentation and artistic freedom, AmaGroove continues to honour the legacy of Riky Rick and the global spirit of collaboration that inspired its creation.
A Global Platform with Local Roots
As it enters its third chapter, AmaGroove remains firmly rooted in South Africa’s creative ecosystem while opening pathways to international exchange.
The residency offers participants access to top-tier production support, mentorship, a tranquil and inspiring environment, and meaningful collaboration with South African and Danish artists, alongside exposure to global networks and performance opportunities.
