Riding the wave of the electric, culture-shifting success of the hybrid SAMA31, the Recording Industry of South Africa (RiSA) is turning up the volume once again – officially opening entries for the South African Music Awards SAMA32.
This marks the start of another nationwide call for South African musicians to step forward, be counted, and claim their place among the country’s finest.

Entry Period and Eligibility
Entries officially open on Wednesday, 17 December 2025, and close at midnight on 30 January 2026. No late submissions will be accepted.
Music submitted for #SAMA32 consideration must have been released between 1 February 2025 and 30 January 2026, and will be judged across more than 30 genre categories, reflecting South Africa’s rich and diverse musical landscape.
From chart-topping hits to underground standouts, this is the moment for artists to be heard — and recognised.
Who Can Enter SAMA32?
Artists, producers, record labels and independent musicians are all eligible to submit, provided their music falls within the official release window. Submissions are open across 30+ genre categories, ensuring representation across the full spectrum of South African sound.

RiSA CEO Calls on the Industry to Participate
RiSA CEO Nhlanhla Sibisi says the organisation is building on the momentum of a landmark year.
“We have had an incredible year, marked by the triumphant hybrid staging of the milestone SAMA31. Now we are fired up and raring to go with SAMA32 preparations. We have seen an increased number of entries in recent years, and we hope to maintain this momentum. It is a much-valued vote of confidence in our systems from the industry, and one that we truly cherish.”
He adds: “We call on the industry to come along and ensure that SAMA32 is one for the books. We look forward to an overwhelming response from deserving music practitioners.”
