Indie band Pinwheel Valley recently released their new single, “Someway” via Hot Soap Records. Known for their cinematic soundscapes and emotional depth, Pinwheel Valley continues to carve out space in the global indie scene with a style that blends Indie Soul, mellow Alt-Rock, and Folktronica.
This follows the success of previous tracks like “Werewolf,” which premiered on METAL Magazine and received spins on RTÉ 2FM, RTÉ 2XM, and NPR Music.
With over 2 million streams, international press features in CLASH Magazine, NOTION, Earmilk, and Billboard Argentina, and BBC Radio airplay, Pinwheel Valley has become one of the most exciting indie acts to watch.
The Sound and Story of “Someway”
“Someway” finds Pinwheel Valley leaning into Indie Folk textures—intimate acoustic guitar, airy atmospherics, and restrained percussion—while frontman Qais Khoury’s vocals soar with a controlled intensity full of longing. The song explores the human need for connection in an age of fractured isolation, carrying a timeless, aching beauty that resonates universally.
Frontman Qais Khoury explained the meaning of the track:
“I wrote ‘Someway’ as a tender plea, woven with threads of hope and longing. It reflects the ache of separation (be it physical, emotional, or spiritual) and the deep yearning for reconnection. Inspired by messages in bottles from bygone eras, the refrain ‘know I’ll find it someway’ becomes an anchor of hope in uncertain times.”
Pinwheel Valley’s Journey
Led by Jordanian-Canadian singer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist Qais Khoury, Pinwheel Valley has evolved from the earlier solo project KAIS into a full live band. The lineup includes Qais (vocals, guitar, keys), Stephanos Marangos (guitar), Max Daniels (bass/Ableton), and Stephanos Meletiou or Phrangiskos Petrisis (drums).
Their previous single “Your Superman” reached No. 13 on the US iTunes Alternative Chart, while award-winning music videos for “Willow” and “Abduction” earned Best Music Video honours at international festivals such as the New York Film Awards, Vegas Movie Awards, and the Swedish International Film Festival.
Influences and Inspiration
Pinwheel Valley’s sound draws inspiration from artists like Jeff Buckley, Bon Iver, James Blake, Radiohead, and Father John Misty. At once cinematic and intimate, their music balances personal introspection with critiques of ego-driven modern society. Qais’ multicultural upbringing—spanning Amman, London, Vancouver, and Cyprus—infuses the project with a rare global perspective.
“Someway” is available on all major streaming platforms. Fans of Indie Folk, Alternative Rock, and emotional singer-songwriter music will find Pinwheel Valley’s latest release a must-listen.
