Matthew Mole Welcomes 2023 with "Countryside"

2023 just got much happier with the release of Matthew Mole’s brand new single, “Countryside”. A heartfelt ode with a double sided-message, the track is described by Matthew as “about being in a beautiful, peaceful place with the immediate opportunity to experience life, but also how insignificant that can be when you can’t share the experience with the person that brings you life”.

As with all his hits, Matthew Mole penned the track based on his own experiences and in this case reflects on how much beauty he gets to witness through his travels, but how rarely he can share them with the person he wants there the most. The lyrics add a bittersweet message of longing, despite the uplifting musicality driving the single.

Matthew’s distinctive voice is the largest driving force on “Countryside”, with a relatively stripped down instrumentation of simple guitars, ukulele and a beautiful keys melody, resulting in a dancey bop, leaning heavily towards the stirring and joyful sound that come so easily for the artist. He has been teasing his fans for weeks on social media, sharing snippets of the track both live and in acoustic form, and based on the response the track is a bonafide smash hit already.
