Award-winning singer-songwriter Jann Klose has joined forces with renowned multi-instrumentalist Rachel Flowers for a remarkable collaboration on their new single, “The Lost Kingdom.”
This deeply emotional and cinematic piece is inspired by a painting of the same name created by legendary vocalist and visual artist Annie Haslam, who co-wrote the song with Jann Klose.
Haslam, celebrated as the lead singer of the progressive rock band Renaissance, crafted the painting “The Lost Kingdom,” which ignited Klose’s creativity, prompting him to compose the music and collaborate on the lyrics.
Her impressive career spans decades, showcasing her five-octave vocal range alongside her talents as a visual artist.
In a tribute to his rock and progressive roots, Klose enlisted the extraordinary talents of Rachel Flowers, an international sensation known for her genre-defying compositions and captivating performances.
Flowers recorded her vocals and piano parts from her home studio in California, adding her unique flair to the track.
Rachel Flowers reflects on the collaboration
“When I received the tracks from Jann, I thought, ‘What would Annie do, but in Rachel’s voice?’ It was such a joy to sing and play piano on ‘The Lost Kingdom.'”
Jann Klose also expresses his enthusiasm for the project
“Working with Annie Haslam, Rachel Flowers, and producer Marcus Dembinski on this release was a wonderful experience and a return to my rock and progressive roots. When I discovered Rachel’s incredible talents, I instantly invited her to lend her voice to the record, and she truly added magic to the piece.”
Producer Marcus Dembinski contributed live drums, bass, electric guitar, and lush orchestral arrangements, bringing “The Lost Kingdom” to life.
Fans of progressive rock, classical influences, and intricate storytelling will find much to appreciate in this hauntingly beautiful single, which weaves together art, music, and poetry for a profound listening experience.
