R&B artist Zimkitha is set to release her debut album “The Black Enigma” on September 18, 2024. This announcement comes more than four months after she dropped “Complicated,” her second single of the year, featuring Tasha HendrixX. Zimkitha had previously hinted at working on her first full-length record.
To celebrate the album’s launch, she will kickoff “The Black Enigma Tour” with an intimate performance at the renowned South African State Theatre in Pretoria on September 21, 2024. Get your tickets HERE.
After a four-month hiatus, Zimkitha returns with her third single of the year, “Baby Vuka,” marking the beginning of her journey toward her debut album.
The single explores the small moments that shape our humanity, like stepping outside to take a breath. However, those moments can sometimes be overshadowed by depression and anxiety, leading to long periods of inactivity.
“Baby Vuka” is a reminder of self-worth and the love we deserve, encouraging us to wake up (Vuka) and embrace life’s special moments. It’s a powerful form of self-affirmation that breathes life into our world, enabling us to share that positivity and light with others.
Produced by rapper and music producer L-Tip, the song blends Neo-Soul with Jazz, highlighting Zimkitha’s soothing and reassuring vocals alongside authentic storytelling in both IsiXhosa and English. It beautifully sets the mood and tone for her upcoming album, The Black Enigma.
