‘Southern Light’ is the most recent single from Wonderboom’s brand new album ‘Rising Sun’ – arguably their strongest release to date – and front man Cito explains the concept of the video, saying “We wanted to create something more abstract with visual candy. Playing around with the concept of the Northern Lights and its magical colours.”
The video was directed, filmed and edited by Wonderboom’s trusted visual “5th member”, Roger Adrian Williams. Performance scenes were shot in front of a green screen for half a day, after which the band shot another video for the upcoming single ‘Praying Mantis’ for the rest of the day.
Undoubtly one of SA’s top live bands, Wonderboom made SA proud in December when they won Top Award, competing against 14 other countries, at the ‘Silk Road Indie Music Festival’ in Chengdu, China. Media and Fans across the country celebrated the Gold Award win and were once again reminded why WONDERboom are one of SA’s longest running Rock bands.
The band gave fans a first screening of the ‘Southern Light’ music video during their sets on the Crash Test Dummies tour in Pretoria and Cape Town last weekend and now everyone can watch it. Check it out below:
