Will Linley continues his explorations into the romantic future of pop with the release of “Maybe,” his new single +video available today via Island Records.
His most personal and perhaps most heart-breaking track to date, “Maybe” addresses his partner with hopefulness and expectation as he urges her to take a leap of faith.
“You tell me that we’ve got potential,” Will sings, “but you don’t want to take a chance on something special/ I’m tryin not to be judgmental/ But if you’re tryin to let me down/ Then don’t be gentle.”
Will Linley comments on “Maybe”
“Maybe” is probably one of my favourite songs I’ve been a part of in the last year. It came about so effortlessly when I wrote it with my friends Jake and Peter. It fell into our laps. The song is fun, nostalgic, and so happy go lucky. This song screams 2010s pop and I am so here for it!”
With its playful “holding on” hooks and optimistic outlook, “Maybe” presents an energizing soundscape for the 21-year-old singer and songwriter from Cape Town, South Africa, whose career trajectory was forever changed with the gold-certified success of “Miss me (When you’re gone),” his premiere single last year.
Will Linley returns to the U.S. later this month for show dates at Mercury Lounge in New York on October 18th; and Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles on October 23rd. This follows up his most recent UK tour which included P!nk’s Summer Carnival and Will’s debut London headline concert at Courtyard Theatre.
“Maybe” builds on the momentum of Will’s summertime releases via Island, “Tough (The Girls Song)” (June) and “Gracie” (August).
