Yes! It’s finally here folks. Afrikaans Rock legends Van Coke Kartel have released a brand spanking new music video for their song “Tot Die Son Uitkom” (which happens to be my favourite track on the “Wie’s Bang” album).
I have very fond memories linked to this song. I’ll never forget hearing this song on the roof the Lister Medical building in the Johannesburg CBD during Van Coke Kartel’s Skyroom Live set. And I pretty sure that the person who attended that show with me will agree.
The Chasing Migada Productions team comprising of producer and director of Photography Darren Wertheim and Director and Writer Quinton Lavery approached the Afrikaans rock band Van Coke Kartel with an offer to shoot the music video for the second single off their “Wie’s Bang Album” entitled “Dis ‘n Land” a few months.
Eventually the music video remained on the MK top 10 for thirteen weeks and its has had over 27,000 views on YouTube. Darren and Quinton were subsequently entrusted with making the music video for Van Coke Kartel’s next next single “Tot die son uitkom”.

This time they envisioned a five-minute short film set in the 80’s featuring two kids age seven, a boy and a girl. As the story unfolds, they would play in nature uninhibitedly, as kids did back then, without a care in the world. Take a look at the video below:
I think that this the best video I’ve seen for a South African music video in a very long time. This brings back some childhood memories from me. I attempted to grab the Thundercats poster from the boy’s wall when I first watched this video. I’m pretty sure that this video will make it to the top of the MK Top 10 as well (and many of you reading will probably agree).
